The name change from Breckinridge to Breckenridge in early 1861 caused some problems for the Post Office Department as this pair of covers shows. Evidently a postmarking device had been ordered prior to the name change and when it arrived it had two errors of spelling. This device was altered by removing the extra "B" but still had the "I" instead of the correct "E."
